At SOPHIE COMPANY, we believe that no matter how big a challenge seems, with teamwork, an open mind, and a positive attitude, we are capable of anything.
It all started with an idea so daring we almost dismissed it as impossible, but through the combined effort of five ordinary women, it instead sparked into a dream-like reality. Here’s how the story of our Advent Calendar began.
We did what we do best--curating top K-Beauty products for you--on a bigger scale than ever before. After months of hard work and creative collaboration, we are proud to present two special Advent Calendars now available online and at over 200 Costco stores in 30 states across the United States. Bring a bit of Korea into your home this holiday season with your very own Seoul Beauty Wardrobe and K-Beauty Facial Boutique.
Through a careful analysis of the latest skincare and beauty trends in Korea, we’ve rounded up an exclusive collection of products from some of the best K-beauty brands, including well-known favorites like COSRX, enature, glowiest, Hanskin, Klairs, and Saturday Skin.

February 2021, the Costco U.S. team reached out to us for a K-beauty advent calendar to be sold throughout over 200 stores in 30 different states. We took our first step towards our advent calendar dream by starting brand and product curation. Are you ready to hear about the rest of our journey?
March 2021, our team brainstormed for the box concept, deciding on the suppliers for packaging and box, then started on the design for the two different advent calendars. Our CEO, Sophie Park, curated and selected the brands for each box according to the box concept.

K-Beauty Facial Boutique (Inline) - inspired by the Sophie’s favorite department store in Los Angeles
April~May
Decisions on box manufacturer & packing company, design and manufacturing begins.
April 2021, we found the perfect box manufacturer & packing company for our advent calendars. This may be a match made in heaven!
May 2021, our team started on the Inline and Online Box curation & design. Various samples have been tested and seen to be finalized on the design our whole team fell in love with! We also visited the N Seoul Tower for inspiration. Lookout for the Korean cultural aspects hidden in the covers of our box! After the design was finalized, manufacturing came next.
June~July
Visits made to the manufacturing factory to check the quality of our advent calendar boxes.
June to July 2021, our team went to the manufacturing factory to check the quality of our advent calendar boxes. We took a careful look on the printed colors and checked if all the products were being packed in the right places. Seeing the numerous amount of boxes made us so proud!
September
Our K-beauty advent calendar boxes safely arrived at the port of L.A., then delivered to the Costco distribution centers to be ready to be sent to over 200 stores in 30 different states!
